About Dhammadasa
& His Teachings

Dhammadasa is a Buddhist meditation teacher and author. He is an Anagarika, a midway status between a monastic and a layperson. He spent over three years in intensive retreats, including a year of solitary meditation at the Bodhipath Retreat Center in the United States. His teachings seamlessly integrate the wisdom of Mahayana, Theravada, and Zen Buddhism, offering an inclusive and practical path to awakening.

Dhammadasa honors all spiritual traditions, schools, and religions; and affirms the dignity of all people—regardless of race, ideology, gender, or past actions. He advocates for unconditional love and the protection of all beings, human and non-human alike, emphasizing the importance of shielding life from fear and harm.

Born in Baghdad, Iraq, and raised in Glasgow, Abu Dhabi, Windsor, and Sydney, Dhammadasa’s multicultural journey enriches his perspective on compassion and mindfulness. His teachings invite readers and students to rediscover the boundless tranquility and contentment already within their hearts.
